Cymed is a brand of ostomy products that all feature MicroSkin technology. MicroSkin is a transparent, hypoallergenic polyurethane film. It is very thin and stretchy, making the ostomy barrier comfortable to wear while still being durable. The transparent design is discreet and allows you to monitor the health of your stomal skin.
Cymed ostomy bags have integrated washers, also called barrier rings. These are thin, flexible discs that have a hole in the center that your stoma goes through. They are made from a pectin-based hydrocolloid that is gentle on the skin. They provide additional protection against output, which can cause irritation if it comes into contact with stomal skin. You can also purchase Cymed ostomy washers separately.
